Curtis HS Lacrosse Team

I recently had the opportunity to shoot team and individual portraits of the Curtis HS girls lacrosse team.  Jaci and I had a great time and all the girls were so much fun to work with – from swinging on the goal posts to jumping through the air, they were up for all kinds of crazy pictures.  Obviously, the pictures we gave the girls had to be fairly traditional, however, the opportunity to play around with some of the portraits and make them a bit more edgy and intense sport feeling was too good to pass up.  I thought it would be fun to post a few of those shots on the blog – these are definitely not your normal high school sports pictures.

Seattle Model Shoot

Every once in a while a small group of professional photographers in the area will get together, enlist the help of models and will go out on the town and shoot and learn from one another.  Recently, my wife and I had the pleasure of getting to go out on one of these shoots with John and Nicole Huson and Emma and Josh Smith, while Taylor and her boyfriend came out and modeled for us and we all had a great time!  I also decided to edit the shots in several totally different styles to capture different feels from each.  Here are a few of the shots from that outing.

Tabitha

Tabitha’s fiance is in Iraq and she wanted to do something fun for him – so we set up a shoot and took lots of fun shots for her to send over to him.  This way he’ll have some pictures to hold him over till he comes home and they get married.  Tabitha is a ton of fun and I’m thrilled that I got to be a part of her efforts to bless her fiance while he is overseas.

Sweet Kiss Momma

I had the opportunity to shoot some promotional shots for the quickly rising band Sweet Kiss Momma.  There were lots of great shots from all over the Puyallup area – however, rather than show case lots of shots – I wanted to do something a bit different with this post.  So I am using one shot from the shoot and editing the shot in lots of different ways!  Ideally, my goal with this project was to capture the look and feel of images from several different eras in a way that would compliment this one image.  I had fun and I hope you enjoy!

A Day in Seattle

This was such a fun shoot!  It was a family wanting several different shoots in one- an anniversary shoot, a senior portrait shoot, and head shots for an acting portfolio.  It was an amazing opportunity to really get creative and the editing of the images was just as fun and exciting.  I assisted John Huson on this shoot and, as always, thoroughly enjoyed working with him- you can check out his photo blog by clicking here:  John Huson’s Blog. I was able to really get a bit more creative capturing mood and playing with some unique lighting. I also threw in a few shots I got of life around us during the shoot.  Enjoy.

Seattle Shoot

What an emazing time- getting together with four other photographers/videographers and spending a day in Seattle with a model to simply encourage and learn from one another as we shot for the fun of it!  I just wanted to share a few of the shots I got that day.  Also, here a a couple links to others who were there- they are certainly worth checking out!  John and Nicole Huson:  husonphotos.com/ Bethany Vieth:  www.effulgencephotography.com

PLU Fun Shoot

It’s far too easy to get caught up in only doing photography for clients and not getting out to shoot just for the fun of it.  I love shooting and meeting new people, so I don’t mind the majority of it being for clients- but it was high time for a “fun shoot.”  so I grabbed a friend of mine, Patrick, and we headed out to the PLU campus in Tacoma to goof off with a camera.
