We just couldn’t pass up a post on the photobooth we did at Jon and Joy’s wedding. Enjoy!

We just couldn’t pass up a post on the photobooth we did at Jon and Joy’s wedding. Enjoy!

Here is the third post covering Jon and Joy’s wedding day – This post is really about showing the part of the day the couple spent at Thornwood Castle and the beauty of the event itself. Enjoy!

On the Thornwood Castle grounds there is a giant chess board and stone chess pieces. How can that not be a setup for a crazy fun photo shoot!? Here are some of the shots we got of the wonderful couple and the groomsmen playing around.

Just a few months ago, Gabe asked me to become his second photographer. I think there was some uncertainty about how things would turn out and if this would be good for our marriage. Let’s face it, working with your spouse can either be a dream come true or a total nightmare. Fortunately, it has been the former. Gabe is so encouraging and supportive, not to mention, he is a ton of fun to work with. Doing wedding photography with him has been a blast over the last few months. As my love of photography has blossomed, I have been exploring areas that thrill me and discovering my own little niche. I am finding it in doing photos of women and families. I’ve dabbled in boudoir and maternity photography a bit and love capturing the true beauty of the women who invite me in to some of the most intimate aspects of their lives. One of the unexpected gems of maternity photography is doing newborn photos. Just yesterday, I did my first newborn shoot of Lily Jane Fletcher. She is a lovely, sweet baby. Thank you to Jon Thomas and Amy for allowing me to capture the beauty of your newest addition. Congratulations and best of luck!

Every wedding we post about presents the very challenging task of narrowing the images to a number that can be realistically posted here on our blog – this is rarely an easy take. However, there are some weddings where the couple, the location, the details and the surprises of a wedding day make for such epic wedding pictures that there is simply no way narrow the images down to one or even two posts. Jon and Joy’s wedding was just such a day!
They got ready in two separate locations – the very artsy and beautiful Hotel Murano and the Sublime Spa at the Hyatt in Downtown Tacoma. The wedding itself was held at the stunning Thornwood Castle on Lake Washington. And Joy and Jon are a couple that drink deeply from life – they live passionately and drench everyone around them in joy!
This is the first of several posts where we wanted to try to give our readers a gimps into this fabulous day.

Just wanted to share another fun photobooth that we did – this was at Megan and Gary’s wedding in Virginia.

Virginia was an amazing place to shoot a wedding. From the most amazing lightning storms to the lush and beautiful landscapes – Jaci and I loved it there. You add to a place like this, a couple like Megan and Gary and you can’t help but smile the entire time! Megan and Gary have a love for each other that I would have to describe as classic. Gary is a true gentleman and Megan is a woman who carries herself with a kind of elegance that makes those around her feel just a bit more special just being around her.
Their wedding was exactly what you’d expect from such a wonderful couple- beautiful!! Congratulation Gary and Megan – what a joy to get to fly out to Virginia to shoot your wedding!

Nicolas and Marjorie are a couple with great taste and an eye for beauty! Nicolas used to be a professional photographer and Marjorie seems to be naturally drawn to beautiful settings – the combination meant that these two wouldn’t settle for anything less than the perfect location for their wedding. So there chose the DeLille Cellars Vineyard for their wedding – with amazing house wines and a picturesque ceremony site on the other side of a small mote from their guests – it lived up to this amazing couple. We had a feeling this would be a fun wedding after the engagement shoot, and we were definitely not disappointed!

Jaci and I really enjoyed this wedding! From the classic cars, to the sunset wedding overlooking a lake, to warm apple pies and ice cream – these two set the stage for an amazing wedding and then pulled it off beautifully. The weather gave us all quite a scare for an outside wedding, but even the weather seemed to play along and provided for a gorgeous evening! Congratulations Eddie and Ann!!

With the weather getting better and better – it is the perfect time for evening engagement shoots! Stephanie and Lucas were wonderful – they both possess the talent of acting truly natural in front of a camera and just enjoyed each others presence. I really enjoyed this shoot and Stephanie and Lucas are definitely the type of couple who are going to have a wedding you wont want to miss!
